Biography

André Martins Pio de Mattos received a Bachelor degree in Electronic Engineering at the Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC), Brazil, in 2021. During his graduation, André was mainly involved with embedded systems for space applications. His research interests include embedded systems, space applications, real-time operating systems, devices for critical applications, and reconfigurable devices (FPGAs). In 2022, he started his PhD at the University of Montpellier (UM), France, in collaboration with the Carlos III University of Madrid (UC3M), in the topic of standardization of system level radiation testing.

Role in RADNEXT

WP6 research efforts target the standardization of radiation test methodologies for electronic systems. My primary role in the RADNEXT project is to collect data from bibliography and actual test campaigns in order to formalize guidelines to propose standardized procedures and good practices to maximize the success of these tests. For this purpose, I will focus on a limited set of systems, such as memories, microcontrollers, and FPGAs. In particular, I will identify meaningful benchmarks for testing each hardware category for both in situ and remote testing.
