Early-stage engineer (WP04)
CERN
Supervisor: Federico Ravotti
Biography
Pierre Pelissou received a master’s degree in physics engineering at the National Institute of Applied Sciences (INSA), France, in 2022. He works as a R&D engineer at CERN in the Experimental Physics department and the Detector Technology group (EP-DT). Following a first professional experience at Airbus, he contributes to the operation of the EP irradiation facilities (IRRAD focusing on beam instrumentation devices) and is responsible for the CERN databases related to worldwide irradiations facilities and test-beam lines. He is also involved in other projects related to the investigation of future irradiation opportunities to fulfil the CERN specifications for the next generation of accelerators.
Role in RADNEXT
WP04 overall objective is closed tied with the study of a roadmap and pre-design of future irradiation facilities. My main role is dedicated to defining scientific, technological and industrial needs based on key performance indicators (KPIs), which consider input from relevant research groups and the industrial community. This task is addressed by analysing the present and future industrial and scientific applications and investigating the limitations of the current facilities. In turn, the aim is also to propose technologically advanced solutions that can be used by current and future facilities to tackle long-term requirements.
